MARVEL Puzzle Quest: Hero RPG App Reviews

Downloaded a lot of games like this one, but this is the only one I dont delete.

The game has gotten batter with the level of difficulty that it ranks you with, you can advance to get better rewards, still very difficult to obtain, but at least now it is doable, they need batter 4-5 character drop rate it keeps the game interesting.

Ive been playing for over a year and there is a marked change in "luck" for the AI in this most recent update. I have played a good number of story and PVP missions since this newest release and compared to previous gameplay, MPQ opponents get continuous strings of 4 and 5 matches. I dont mind them having the same luck I do, but I feel like cards are now stacked in the opponents favor. The difficulty before was enjoyable - easier at lower levels and getting tougher at the higher. They nerfed the user big time in this update.

Like all pay-to-win games, it is easy to learn and can be entertaining, but unless you sink tons of money into it you cant ever win. In-game events are designed to ensure the AI wins unless you have the EXACT combination of fully leveled Uncommon or Rare characters in your roaster. New characters are impossible to win, but throw enough money into the Random Character Cover lottery and you will have one fully leveled by the end of the event. The AI will always get all the points it needs to get off its most powerful abilities within two or three rounds while you struggle to fill a power that only requires five points. You can choose which of you opponents characters you want to attack first, but the order in which your team takes damage is based on what color tiles you match; and if you have two characters who utilize the same color for a power, the weaker of the two will always be put in front to receive damage when that color is matched. Character cards, abilities belonging to another character you have faced and defeated that can only be used once, ensure you never have an unfair advantage over your opponent and can lead to situations where your best characters are defeated by starter characters. Several older, cheaper characters are poorly balanced, able to do thousands of points of damage for very few action points. Additional character slot tokens and other in-game currency can be won but the game releases so many new characters (they have released at least 10 so far this year) and so many events depend on you having them in order to play that you feel forced to pay real money to continue playing. There is only one recurring events that does not require you to have certain characters to play, and that is the PvP section which has its own problems. Your opponent is chosen at random and while you can choose to skip up to four for free, eventually you have to either fight someone more powerful than you or pay in-game currency to skip. If you are looking for a casual matching game, look somewhere else. If you are looking for a competitive investment of both time and money, there are better choices but this one is based on the Marvel comics, so it appeals to some.

Been playing for 18 months- while they keep adding new characters with powers that alter strategy, what Im most impressed with are the constant system improvements.

Highly addictive with minimal cost. Great gameplay!! Every update has only made it better.

Its hard to resist spending money because the game is so much fun. Especially if you like Marvel. Ive spent a lot of money. Youve been warned.

A good puzzle game , and fun but it could be great. Need to make keeping heroes Easter.

It seems that games are designed for either the new player or the super experienced player. Marvels game is an exception as it provides challenges and opportunities to win at all levels of the game. Love this game. Definitely worth a download.

This is still my favorite gem matching game. It offers a lot more varied gameplay, and actual strategy. As compared to other gem matching game. For example you have to build up a characters powers over time to advance, and thats half the fun of the game. Plus if youre a Marvel fan its fun to collect the covers as part of the game.

This game is so much fun to play I love collecting Heroes and using them to fight bad guys I love how its so easy to open and play for like 5 minutes then i can put it away and take it out again later

This game has a pretty good mix of puzzle solving, strategy and teamwork. Digging it more and more as I play.

Have money? Great! Thats what you need to get somewhere in this game. Also, if your battery dies or if the app crashes, it assumes you lost or exited the battle. It does not reset your HP to before you entered the battle. They dont let you view the leaderboards after the event is over anymore. Today, doesnt even tell you your rank. This is important if you are managing an alliance and if there are members that are not performing and is the cause for the missed rewards, then youll never know unless you happen to look at the last minute. Also, almost everything that helps you compete is done by spending hero points. But you dont acquire them at a fast rate and end up falling behind the people that spend a crap ton of money to get additional hero points. try to play this game without spending money. You will be frustrated

Great game ... I was not into puzzle games but this game has me hooked for sure

Recent changes to the game have substantially less fun if you are a long term player. The development team continues to increase the difficulty of the game without making any attempt to provide rewards that match the heightened difficulty. Expecting people to Play substantially harder matches for the same prizes is silliness.
